Several years ago wine writer for The Australian Magazine and parttime mandolin player, Max Allen, was invited to a jam session at Charles Melton Wines while visiting the region. When he rolled up he found himself playing not with a local cornet player, but genial, supremely talented Matsumoto Montz.
